AEROLUTS / DJI LUT GUIDE

Why use LUTs for DJI footage?

LUTs are useful for DJI footage because they give you a reusable colour starting point across clips and compatible editors. After basic exposure and white-balance adjustments, a carefully chosen LUT can bring a travel sequence, everyday footage, or a short social edit closer to the feeling you remember.

Turn clips into one story

A DJI shoot often moves quickly through bright streets, indoor cafés, sunsets, water, and people in the same day. Those clips will not match perfectly, but using a small collection of looks gives you a clear direction. Start with one look for the sequence, then make small per-clip corrections for changing light instead of grading every shot from zero.

Keep your look with your workflow

You might make a quick edit in DJI Mimo today and finish a larger project in CapCut or a desktop editor later. Standard .cube LUTs let you take the same starting look with you. This is more flexible than relying on a filter that only exists in one app.

Make fast edits feel deliberate

Using a LUT does not mean pressing one button and exporting. It means making fewer colour decisions from scratch. Choose a look that fits the scene, adjust exposure and white balance, then reduce the LUT strength if the result feels too heavy.

Use them with a light touch

The best DJI grade usually keeps detail in skies and highlights, leaves skin tones believable, and does not pull attention away from the subject. Preview the look on a few clips before applying it widely. If it feels obvious, lower the strength.
